The new custom staircase is complete at The Captain’s Manor Inn!! Mike Corsi did a fantastic job and took great pride in designing this centerpiece for the entrance at the Inn. We look forward to showing off his work to all our guests who visit Cape Cod this summer. We hope you enjoy the slideshow of the progress from stair treads to finished product.

One of the newest additions to The Captain’s Manor Inn that we are most excited about is the Bistro area. Kevin has been diligently working to install the new cabinets and granite top as you will see from the attached pictures. This coming Friday the new bistro furniture from Pier 1 is being delivered. We will plan to try it out this weekend with family before our grand re-opening for Memorial Day weekend.

The construction adventure continues! The projects of today are trim around the windows, doors etc. and stairway tread installation as well as hardwood flooring.

The weather has been beautiful the past couple of days here at The Captain’s Manor Inn which is helping us to get some important outdoor work completed on the new construction. The finishing touches are being done on the new main entrance stairs to the veranda and Kevin has been very busy creating the new brick patio at the base of the stair entrance. Needless to say his back and knees are a bit sore!

Hard to believe that less than 60 days are left until we reopen the Inn. The tiling of all the new bathrooms is well underway and the crown molding and wood trim is in process. The Bates room is a fun room to capture as it progresses. We posted a short video below that we hope you enjoy

It is bitterly cold out today! After an incredibly mild winter to date the artic freeze started yesterday and is in full force today. That has not stopped our wonderful framers from working hard to keep the addition on track. Over the weekend Kevin and I recruited our two young adult children to form a painting production line. The story is that we are replicating 174 brackets on the wrap around veranda and our architect had them made and shipped from Georgia. They arrived on Friday and had to all be painted by Monday for the framer to get them on the house in preparation for the siding work to begin. So here we are on Monday and the brackets are being attached as I write this. Some pictures of this part of our Cape Cod bed and breakfast project are shown below:

Now things are really getting exciting!!! The weather continues to cooperate so that today the roof is being shingled and the windows are going in. It is so hard to believe that we are enjoying 50 + degree weather in Falmouth Cape Cod as we enter the second week of January. Certainly some would say global warming and others just chalk it up to crazy New England weather. Now that the addition is starting to be closed in it builds our confidence that we will keep the project on track. The other good thing is that we can avoid the crazy flood we experienced a couple of weeks ago when the rain came pouring down right into the 1st floor kitchen/pantry through the antique window because the drainpipe was removed where the new addition abuts the house. YIKES!!
I thought you might appreciate seeing the video of the little window waterfall and the new windows and roofing activity.

Happy New Year to all!! The construction is moving along but as anyone who has been through it knows there are hiccups along the way Good news is that we just had the driveway initial paving done before winter hits (at this rate winter may not hit seeing as it was 50 degrees yesterday!). The hope is that in about one week the entire roof will be complete. At this time the roof is on the new veranda and the plywood sheathing is almost complete on the actual roof over the living areas. The cupola is also under construction on top of the new addition.

The expansion of The Captain’s Manor Inn really seems to be coming to life now. The foundation is complete with the pouring of the ground level floor. The framing is well underway with the ground level and first level exterior walls complete. Hope you enjoy the pictures below
