September 29, 2011 by insideout

Just 3 miles down the road from The Captain’s Manor Inn in Falmouth is the Woods Hole Science Aquarium which has two new exciting exhibits.ย  “Sounds of the Sea” features whale and other marine animal sounds in an interactive display and “Albatross: A Legacy of Research” features the 46 year career of the 187 foot research vessel Albatross IV.ย  Albatross IV sailed from Woods Hole from 1962 until its retirement and decommissioning in 2008.ย  The display includes many items including three main panels each with a video display above highlighing the seafarers, the ship itself and the science it accomplished.

The Aquarium is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11 AM to 4 PM.ย  Admission is free, but donations are accepted.
