If you like murder mysteries we suggest you attend a special event on May 14th at the Highfield Hall Mansion in Falmouth, Ma. while enjoying a respite at our Cape Cod Bed and Breakfast, The Captain’s Manor Inn. You will experience what Highfield Hall is referring to as Musical Mayhem. In the midst of music from Robert Wyatt, a murder occurs. Who did it? The killer must be stopped and it’s up to you to find the clues. Wonderful Hors d’ouevres from the Casual Gourmet and a cash bar will complement the event.
We are personally looking forward to this special event and I am taking Mom for her birthday. We hope you join in the fun.
Many of our guests love to visit Martha’s Vineyard for a day during their stay at our Cape Cod bed and breakfast. This week we learned of some work being done at the Old Whaling Church in Edgartown that we thought we would share. A couple of weeks ago a crane was brought in and the Main Street area around the Church in Edgartown was closed for three hours in order to remove the 1,500-pound bronze bell from the tower of the Old Whaling Church and send it in for repair.
This is the first time the bell, cast in 1843 in the Boston foundry of Henry N. Cooper & Co., has been down from the tower.
The plan is to have the bell back in place and chiming the hours in Edgartown before Memorial Day.
The renovation of the Lawrence bathroom continues. This favorite room with its 12 foot ceilings and grand windows will soon have a new expanded bathroom maintaining old world charm with a beautiful kohler pedestal sink and a luxurious tile and corian 3 x 5 foot shower. The latest renovation pictures are below along with a brief video clip.

A favorite area to visit just down the road from our Cape Cod bed and breakfast is Woods Hole in Falmouth. The picture below features one of our guests, Norman, inside Alvin the submarine while visiting The Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution this past summer. Alvin has taken 12,000 people on over 4,000 dives the most famous being the exploration of the wreckage of RMS Titanic in 1986.
We recently learned that Alvin is undergoing a major overhaul and upgrade. The overhaul will take 16 months.

We are very proud of our guest, George Austin, and his illustrious curling accomplishments. Just this weekend he stayed at our bed and breakfast for the 2011 GNCC Senior Men’s Championship at the Cape Cod Curling Club right around the corner in Falmouth. There were 17 teams that competed over the 4 day event for the coveted trophy which he has captured five times as skip (captain) on the winning rink (team) . Kevin and I enjoyed watching George’s team compete live. We look forward to George and Kathy’s return in July, when George’s team will be Defending Champions in the Cape Cod Mixed Summer Bonspiel (36 teams) and Defending Champions in the Cape Cod Men’s Summer Bonspiel (24 teams) I have attached some pictures of George and the event and even have a video to share.
