John Salerno Trio

October 2, 2015 by Trish Robinson

Jazzfest Falmouth happens Friday, October 2nd and we could not be more excited to th4host The John Salerno Trio on our very own front porch! The evening for your ears begins at 5:15 at Museums on the Green. Come down town early and have a listen to the Bart Weisman Group as they play their โ€˜Keeping Jazz Alive on Cape Codโ€™ set. After this Jazzfest Falmouth kick-off concert, we suggest stopping for a bite to eat at one of Main Streetโ€™s many restaurants. If you choose to dine outside, youโ€™ll be able to hear Jazzfest happening all around you; more than fifteen local businesses will be playing host to amazing musicians. Wherever your night takes you, just make sure youโ€™re at The Captainโ€™s Manor Inn by 7pm for a world renowned music sensation.

Fgallery1-13-lgJohn Salerno, originally from the Boston area, has traveled the globe perfecting his craft. From Italy and England to Turkey and Greece, John Salerno has studied all types of music and has taken bits and pieces from his travels and incorporated them into his one-of-a-kind sound. The front porch of the Captainโ€™s Manor Inn will come alive with the IMG_9126-427x640sounds of swing, big bang, and maybe even some show tunes! Bring your suggestions, and your auditory appetite for smooth Jazz. We’ll offer seasonal refreshments under the stars!

The John Salerno Trio will play until 8:15, but thatโ€™s hardly when Jazzfest Falmouth ends. Enjoy live music until 11pm in Falmouth Friday night. We couldnโ€™t think of a more wonderful way to welcome the fall than with great music for the whole community to enjoy. Hope to see you Friday night!

Jazz Stroll

September 13, 2014 by Trish Robinson

Jazz Stroll 2014 is set for October 3, 2014 in lovely Falmouth Village. This free event takes place at numerous retail and restaurant locations in Queen’s Buyway and along Main Street. Groups performing range from duos to trios as well as quartets and even the big band group Stage Door Canteen at Liam Maquire’s Irish Pub to close out this fabulous night. You might even choose to enjoy a jam session to be held at Jacks located at 327 Gifford Street.

Make a night of it and come for a stroll where you can mix musical pleasure with dinner and dessert or a little retail therapy while on for your jazz stroll.

This evening is one of many events that make up 2014 Jazzfest. One of this year’s highlight performances will be Grammy Winner Catherine Russell who will be performing at Highfield Theater on Saturday, October 4th at 7:30 pm. Russell is celebrated as a genuine jazz and blues singer who can sing virtually anything. Her Grammy was awarded for her featured work on the soundtrack of the HBO series Boardwalk Empire. Catherine has performed with Steely Dan, Paul Simon, David Bowie, Cyndi Lauper and numerous other musical talents.Jazz stroll at Vagabond View
