Red Chair Travels | Cape Cod

April 29, 2012 by insideout

Quintessential Falmouth Village Main Street

The Red Chair has continued on its journey of a Better Way to Stay in Cape Cod and has arrived at The Captain’s Manor in in Falmouth.ย  What a wonderful time visiting some of Cape Cod’s great landmarks including lovely Inns , museums, eateries, beaches, and quaint villages such as Falmouth Village’s main street.

What I found as we chaperoned the chair is that it is famous !ย  When we went over to the Queens Buyway shops a local bicycle rider yelled out “Is that THE red chair” and we were happy to reply it sure is!ย  The next stop was Ben & Bill’s Chocolate emporium where one of the staff made a point of going to get the local paper and show the rest of her co-workers the article that had been written.ย  I had no sooner arrived at Highfield Hall and was taking the chair out for its picture in the sunken garden when two of my favorite people from the Hall, Janet and Pat,ย  came out and said they were just taking about the Red Chair the other day and saying wouldn’t it be great if it made a visit here.ย  Off to the Visitor Center where the cry went out “The Red Chair is here”.ย  My personal favorite was after taking some great shots over at the Nobska Lighthouse a gentlemen made a point of jogging over from across the street saying he just had to see what the fuss was about with THE Red Chair.

Some of our favorite pictures were at the Nobska Lighthouse and Highfield Hall.ย  Also check out our full gallery of pictures on facebook and our movie on youtube.ย

2011 Falmouth Jazzfest | Cape Cod

Newport Jazz Festival|Cape Cod

July 18, 2011 by insideout

One of the reasons we purchased The Captain’s Manor Inn in Falmouth Ma. after looking at Inn properties throughout the East coast was the beauty of Cape Cod and how many things there are to do on the Cape or nearby. One great example is the Newport Jazz Festival seeing as Newport is only an hour and ten minutes from The Captain’s Manor Inn in Falmouth Cape Cod.

Why not attend the Newport Jazz Festival on August 5th, 6th and 7th and after the festivities on Sunday head to Falmouth and plan a respite at The Captain’s Manor Inn enjoying all there is to offer in Falmouth. While here we encourage you to plan a day trip to Martha’s Vineyard. Start early with a full breakfast at 8am at the Inn and then head over to the ferry for your 45 minutes trip to Martha’s Vineyard. Enjoy a day of exploration on the Vineyard then take the ferry back and plan on a wine/cheese platter at our Inn before going out to dinner at one of the fine restaurants in walking distance from the Inn.

Falmouth Village|Arts and Crafts Street Festival|Cape Cod

July 15, 2011 by insideout

Just a short stroll from our bed and breakfast accomodations at The Captain’s Manor Inn is lovely Falmouth Village.ย  This year’s arts and crafts street festival on July 13th in Falmouth Village Cape Cod was fantastic.ย  It was a hot summer day and thousands of people came to enjoy the beautiful handcrafted items and to see many of the artisans performing their craft work.ย  Main Street in Falmouth was closed down as they do each year for the festival. The Falmouth Village shops and restaurants on main street participate in the big day and many set up tables outside their shops and restaurants with great merchandise or nice ice cold water and other snacks.

Pictures of a couple of our favorite artisan booths are shown below.
