Cape Cod’s food truck festival is back for its third consecutive year. The Cape Cod Fairgrounds will be home for a day to some of the best gourmet food trucks around. For only $5 ($20 for a VIP ticket) you gain access to a mobile culinary smörgåsbord. This day long event will feature a Sam Adams beer garden and an Etsy art market in addition to over 25 food trucks. Sampling cuisine from various food trucks is the perfect way to diversify your dining. Not sure if you’re a big fan of French food and rather not risk finding out only after you’ve begun your meal at a fancy French restaurant? Try the canard confit from Plouf Plouf Gastronomie’s food truck – you may have a more daring palate than you thought. And remember, you can always head over to a Cape Cod classic – the Ipswich Clambake truck if you find that French food isn’t for you. Bring your blankets and chairs and get ready for an epic day of deliciousness at Cape Cod’s food truck festival. Click here for a list of participating food trucks.

Arts Alive , the Strawberry Festival and gorgeous weather are sure to make today a perfect 10 ! The annual Arts Alive festivities started last night and continue through the weekend. Today I look forward to going to Arts Alive and visiting Robin Pierson’who did the fabulous window art in our Canopy Guest room. First Kevin and I plan to walk to the Strawberry Festival just down the street at St. Barnabas church. We have watched them get the big tent ready for the festivities and we plan to enjoy the lobster rolls, great barbeque chicken and of course some strawberry dessert delights.
Just a short stroll from our bed and breakfast accomodations at The Captain’s Manor Inn is lovely Falmouth Village. This year’s arts and crafts street festival on July 13th in Falmouth Village Cape Cod was fantastic. It was a hot summer day and thousands of people came to enjoy the beautiful handcrafted items and to see many of the artisans performing their craft work. Main Street in Falmouth was closed down as they do each year for the festival. The Falmouth Village shops and restaurants on main street participate in the big day and many set up tables outside their shops and restaurants with great merchandise or nice ice cold water and other snacks.
Pictures of a couple of our favorite artisan booths are shown below.
